Hey everyone, i just installed windows 7 ultimate x64 on a new hard drive in my PC and now when i download the drivers for my EVGA 780i SLI Mobo, it tells me under device manager that the device cannot start and in the bottom right corner of my desktop next to the time it shows a little speaker with a red circle and slash threw it saysing "no output device installed." The EVGA support team has ditched me.

Try uninstalling the driver and restarting the PC and see if Windows 7 automatically detects and installs the correct driver. Are you sure the speakers are plugged into the motherboard audio jack? Do you get sound if you plug in headphones?

I agree with jamesd1981, the audio on the 780i is the Realtek one, so their driver is the one you need.

Check out this link.

Or try this link: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads...=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

yeah its realtek and iv installed all the drivers from there website. The speakers are plugged into the right jacks and no head phones dont work. ill show a screenshot of the device manager and the propertys of the audio drivers installed when i get back to my computer. Iv even tried using a sound card (althought the sound card is old) that didnt even work either. It used to kinda work when i used xp pro.

Would a nice sound card be a god investment in this situation? cause the on-board audio is pretty nice... when it works
