Dunno what other data will help. My laptop was working perfectly when I got it, and it still works, but it takes longer to load anything - internet, msn, et cetera. Furthermore, audio skips/stutters or whatever - especially when multiple programs are running. I recently did a system restore and the problem was gone. A few days later, the problem has returned. I tried a system restore, which failed. I may try another system restore to an earlier time. Still, I don't see why that has anything to do with it.

I thought maybe overheating, but my friends said that is unlikely. Still, I am paranoid. (Also, it had been over 6+ hours and the problem existed before the first system restore) so it couldn't have just cooled down.

Man, I am really lost, worried, and frustrated all at the same time. I have no idea what I might be doing to cause this. I am sometimes running the computer on a non-hard, flat surface, but that still shouldn't be causing such an annoying problem.

My computer is running 28 processes, currently at 21% cpu usage. Now 50. Whenever it skips or I open up another program cpu usage increases to an extremely high amount.

I have itunes, 2 firefox, and msn open. However, there are 28 processes, many of which are multiples of what is called svchost.exe, some other the username network service, others local service, others system, and they are using different memory. Virus scans and adware scans have been done.

The problem is not as bad as it was since the system restore, and it has improved right now - but it shouldn't have returned at all as far as I can see. Furthermore, it was much worse the originally time and got worse as things progressed. Still, it is most noticeable when it takes forever to start up the computer.

Sorry, msn wasn't open when I gave the first cpu facts. Now I am going from 5% cpu usage and often up to 50 or more. Skipping increases further. Peaked and went back down

As you can see, I am going a bit crazy.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Wow, it's 5 am now. I lack computer skills, indeed, I do. Anyway, I found out that Hijack This can be helpful, but I don't know how it workLogfile of HijackThis v1.99.1
