came across some old LPs in the loft and a record deck (no amp). is it possible to connect up to my hp pc and record onto cd disc. pc does have a cd/dvd burner. other problem seen is record deck as phono plugs on and pc as mini jack sockets

You just need a simple converter. They can be purchased at Radioshack for a few bucks. Just connect it to your Line-in and record using something like Audacity.
