Auto Cad Software?

Hi again, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can download some free Auto Cad software? I am not asking for anything illegal but if someone offers free Auto Cad software like Open Office offers free word processing software?

I am college for HVAC engineering and right now I have a class where I am required to draw out ducting and I just need some simple software where I can view and edit my work so I can keep on top of my work.

Plus does anyone know of a free website where I can upload some files so I can access them from anywhere? So I can transfer the files between my school and home PC's without a thumb drive.

mediamax is ok, free, but some of them are fly-by-night operations. So becareful of which uploading sight u use.

Lots of times school offer software at awesome discounted rates. I would check up with your IT deparment or bookstore and see if you can get a copy for cheap. I know my school offers all kinds of software either free or cheap...

That sounds risky, I will check it out though.

Thats a good idea, but Auto-Cad 2008 cost like $2000 and even with a discount I doubt it will come anywhere near close to the price I want. The most I would be willing to spend is $10 on the software because this is just one class, I don't know if I will do this as a profession once I graduate. So if I am only going to use the software 2-3 months its a waste of money.

Thanks again to everyone who responded to my post.

Google SketchUp is free and it has an online "warehouse" full of millions of parts

you might not even have to draw your ducting, it might already be in the "warehouse"

If you have any more questions, pm me or search the forum for a help thread (one made by me)

Thank you so much. This is great software but it is unable to recognize my Auto-Cad work from school. Its a .dwg file.

Fastcad or Easycad will import DXF and DWG files, it will do all you want and I use it at work. A little more expensive than your 10$ though. Maybe they do a free trial without restrictions.

EDIT: Apparently they do 30 day full function download.

Thanks for the link, like you said it only has a 30 day trial but I will download it and use it until I can find a more permanent solution.
