AutoCAD 2005 upgrade

Hi,

I purchased AutoCAD 2005 Student Edition a little over 2 years ago whilst I was part-time studying, unfortunately now, I'm no longer studying and the 2 year licence has run out. To continue the student version I need to provide proof from education institution that I'm still a student(which I obviously can't).

Whilst the licence was current, I not only saved files relevant to my study, but also had some of my own designs saved, which I can no longer open.

Any suggestions what the cheapest and easiest way to get back into regularly using the program again?
