My brother owns this laptop

It has Integrated Intel GMA HD graphics and when using a certain function in AutoCAD the laptop freezes and a message displays that states there was a problem with the graphics and it has corrected itself.
Do you guys think there could be an issue with the integrated graphics controller or is it more probable that it is simply overloaded when using certain AutoCAD functions? If it is just overloaded is it possible to add a mobile GPU to this laptop that can better handle graphics processing?
