I know this subject has been discussed ever since such programs came out on to the market, but I just can't seem to find the answer's I am looking for. To start with, I am running Norton 2010 and although it has some nice features, it is a little heavy on the resources. Now I have eight days to renew and I am thinking what should I do. Should I buy an anti-virus program or should I download seperate programs to make up a paid version?

I think it would be helpful to firstly clarify the main difference between two versions. Please chip in and correct/add information.
So far I have noted that with a paid version you get the following:

  • Abiity to Schedule scans (multiple scans)
  • Constant updating of virus definitions done automatically
  • All programs in one package, (anti-spyware, firewall etc)

With a free version I have found that updates are something like once a day and You can only schedule one scan.

Please advise what I should do, this ios an office computer so I dont want to screw around with the security.
Please state the beneifts of bothe programs and please state which programs I should go for.

For paid versions please tell me the benefits of stated programs and where to download these programs from.
For free version please tell programs and combos I should use to achieve high level of security.

Help is very much appreciated.
