How do I know if the threat is real or not. The very top of the alert does have the avg logo and it says AVG Resident Shield Alert. In the body of the alert it gives 3 choices: move to vault (recommended), go to file or ignore threat. I have heard that there are viruses that are made to look like the real thing and then when you click on it, it can screw up your computer. Please help, I am not going to touch it until I have your advice. Thank you, Frank

If you know what the program is - Ignore the threat
If you are unsure - Research into what the program is (Google is your friend). If it is non-malicious, ignore, if it is or if you can't find adequate information, move to vault
If you know it is malware - move to vault
Don't set it to ignore because "it is probably going to be fine!!" Make sure or find an alternative program
