AVG vs McAfee Anti-Virus Programs

AVG vs McAfee Anti-Virus Programs:

I’ve had both the AVG and Comcast McAfee anti-virus programs installed on my Dell Vostro 420 desktop (WIN Vista Business) for some months now.

Since mid-month the Vostro has begun crashing during boot-up with error messages suggesting one or more other causes – one being a USB connection problem. [I can provide details if interested.]

So, I’m wondering if I should delete either of these anti-virus programs in case they may be aggravating the situation. Which would you choose to keep and why?

Get rid of McAfee. AVG works. McAfee is another hog like Norton.

AVG , Avast and others work well. the free.

You should never have more than 1 virus scanner installed on your system at any given time as they will cause problems with each other. As said, Mcafee is a resource hog and should be uninstalled and stay with AVG.
