avira found a couple of these:

[Detection]Contains recognition pattern of the DR/RK.BM.7 dropper

I can't find anything on it in google.

there were some trojans & other baddies in my file server. if i just leave them alone, will they still spread?

the user does not have permission to run programs on the server, just read & write to their share.

should i delete?

well, i got permission to delete all undesirables.
i also scanned with MBAM and it came back clean except for one PUM; no biggie. did a search and will just add to ignore list.

However i'm surprised it only took 2 hrs to scan all drives. Avira takes about 8 hrs. makes me think it didn't do a very good job.

Malwarebytes scans very quickly now. They improved the scan time dramatically with the last couple updates they did to it. Before updating it quick scans usually took over 5 minutes to complete and now usually only take like 2 minutes. Usually full scans are not required by malwarebytes.
