Avoid reinstall programs

for e.g, I attempt to reinstall Win, and want to avoid reinstall programs so I copy some programs ' files from folder Program Files from C: to D: and after finish reinstall Win, I copy those files back to C:/Program Files, does these programs be used ok ???
If not, do you have any other ways ?

No you cant do tht. In order to do so you need to copy your registry keys to and import them after your reinstall!

You can however use norton ghost or a program called pc mover or snapshot.

These take images of your drive and you can reinsatate them.
 
I dont know about the previous posts but when i upgraded to Vista i had to do a clean install and i just copied the files and programs i wanted onto my other HDD, D:, and reinstalled windows on my C: Drive, then i copied them back, easy as. You do not kep the registry files, you could probably find a way to keep it all, what i did was make a complete copy of my registry, copied the programs i wanted onto my D: drive, reinstalled Windows, Copied the programs back to their exact locations applied my old registry and ran Registry Cleaner to get rid of all the things i didnt have installed any more.
