I've been using Azureus for a while now without any problems, however i've recently started using a new laptop and it isn't performing as well as it did before.
All of my downloads seem to have the yellow face which apparently means I have a 'NAT' problem, whatever that may be? I opened up Azureus just now and I was greeted by this pop up error message 'A UPnP device is taking a long time to release its port mappings, consider disabling this via the UPnP configuration'.
I use my laptop wirelessly from my router, so i'm guessing I have to change some settings. Could anyone help?

also check firewall settings. The firewall blocked my java runtimes whilst I was using azurues.
 
upnp (universal plug n play) really doesn't work like it was intended to with networking hardware. It is suppose to automatically configure open ports for the application. However, there are many reasons why you would not want to do this. NAT has nothing to do with this, you do not have your ports open/forwarded for the app properly. I use utorrent and have all my ports forwarded with NAT and all security enabled. I have no problem.
 
Ok I used port forward but got stuck on the last bit. Here's the link to my router first of all, http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/BT/Voyager2500V/Azureus.htm

I got to the very last bit, but I didn't quite understand what to do. In the last 3 diagrams it shows a similar picture, but the picture shows 3 rows of boxes (all starting with TCP). I wasn't sure whether to fill in all 3 rows, or create 3 different Applications filling in only the first line each time with Azur 1,2 and 3. It isn't very clear.

If anybody could shed any light i'd be grateful as my download and uploads speeds seem to be getting worse.
 
your router control panel is funky. For port forwarding to work properly on your private network you will need to give the client you are running azerus on a static IP. I run static DHCP and assign IP by mac address and then any other client who does not have that filter will get a random IP everytime they connect.

Otherwise those instructions are pretty straight forward.
