what do I have to do to get them off my harddrive and back onto a cdr. I have CDRWIN5, Iso Buster1.7, CD clone 3.0.9.1

sorry if this is the wrong place and is badly written out THANX :)

You should use Clone Cd to copy protected game cds. With it, you don't need to get a no cd patch if you want to run your games from your backup cds.

I tryed cdclone to copy the game. and wen i click on the icon on the desktop it asks me to put in the right cd. i uninstalled the game and can use the copy to install it but i cant use the copy to play it.

Are you sure you have the latest version?
And you should use the "protected game disk" method.

I got warcraft 3 working with clone cd, and as far as I know, Warcraft 3 has a pretty good protection.

Have a look at the CD/DVD 101 about SecurROM 4.68.xxx to 4.84.xxx depending on patch revision .... and cloneCD isnt up to the task of backing it up. Have a look at Alcohol120 or better yet, BlindWrite :)

If you want to use "classic' BlindWrite (v4.25), make sure you make yer BWA file at no more than 8X and you'll be fine :)

Not totally, where would the blank media market be if it was?

Thats generally used for data storage not copying games that state "Do not make illegal copies of this disk" by illegal it means "Do not make copies of this disk without our permission" :P

Anyway not bitchin' just stating a fact :D

copying games is a form of data storage. it is legal if you keep it for backup purposes only. That said - most of the games i play or music i own, i copy to my hdd as i didnt want to bring 150 cds to uni with me.

True, I understand what you are saying. Fair point Dave. but still if you are planning to pass them around or sell then that's illegal anyway
In a way it is, in a way it's not
Case Closed :P

Lets not be overly presumptious of people. ;)

I think it would only be illegal if you tried to sell them or gave them away, cause if your keeping it just as a backup for yourself, then you already paid for the game.

cheers everyone.

Done a little research and it is fine to back up games as long as you dont sell them on or give them away. the way I see it is you spend all that money on buying games. you want to be able to keep the original in the best condition so backing them up is just away of looking after your money. and its the same with music cd's and dvd's

I guess its all a matter of what county your in, there is no such thing as an international copyright, but most countries have similar laws or sign to international treaties. But not all.

id say if its only for yourself then nobodys going to know really...illegal or not. And your not hurting anybody/company.
