Backing up Windows 7 Query

Hi there,

I'm hoping someone can please help me with this. I bought a new laptop and I'm wondering if someone can tell me how to backup the Windows 7 that's on it. I've tried to find this information elsewhere but couldn't find the answer or I just didn't understand what I was reading. So that's why I'm resorting to a forum. Probably a query that's annoying to some, but hey I need help!

Explain by what you mean backing up. Do you want the whole installation or just personal files or what? You can use image software like acronis true image to image your drive in case it starts crashing or hard drive goes out. If its a new system there should be an option to make recovery cd's so that you can reinstall the OS when needed. Or its possible there is a recovery partition to do that. You'll have to look in the documentation where it says how to reinstall operating system.
