Im going to be building my first computer (cause my old dell is really starting to die on me) and i was wondering wat the chances of building the computer without any problems is. So wat im asking is how hard was it to put ur first computer together?Did u run into any problems? thx for the help guys

I didn't run into too many problems when i built my first computer, i even attached the board directly to the case (no standoffs) and didn't fry anything... Which is amazing, i was probably only 14 at the time. It's really not too hard.

It's pretty easy if you take care to study a little first. I've had myself break the tip off a cheap graphics card and have set a psu on fire, but it's been pretty easy for me. I consider myself highly unlucky.

The hardest thing for me was and sometimes still is, installing the operating system. But as for the parts, that's no problem at all. Just follow your motherboards directions, take your time and double check your connections before turning it on the first time.

Not too long ago I was asking a similar question, all the while believing that it was way over my head to build a PC. But thanks to this forum, it now seems very easy. Of course, I still have yet to actually *build* one, but trust me, once you do some reading and research, you won't even need to ask if it's hard.

My first experience was kind of bad, and it had all to do with installing the operating system. I didn't understand how it worked and was trying to use an windows upgrade CD. Then when I finally figure that out, I bought vista home premium. But it kept shutting down during installation. My main 24-pin power connector had come just a tiny bit loose. Uber gay.

I still say it's easy to build your own computer, though. Just know the difference between upgrade cd's and full installation cd's.

My first build was pretty easy. It was for my sisters. The only problem i ran into was installing the OS, other than that it was a quick one-two job. Take the timer to do a bit of research of the part you are working with, just to familiarize yourself. =]

Hmm... This build. Just bad RAM, 3 reps, 3 lies, and that's about it. Runs well not :D

Come to think of it, I've only gotten one DOA. No matter how crappy the parts I buy. Lucky me :D
