bad mobo?

i just got an 8800gt and it doesnt always work, it works but not as it should, it seems like it is either bottle necking with my crappy pentium 4 ( which i know it is doing that) but sometimes like at 4o'clock pm it always works just fine. this is always after its been off all night and most of the day. is this a sign of a bad mobo or is it just pure bottle necking?

Well it's obviously bottlenecking...but why it works "great" (or at least decent) sometimes, and horribly at other times is what confuses me.

Maybe someone with their infinite knowledge and wisdom (usually me) will help you.
