this notebook (although not commercially available in the US yet, expected 4-12-06) supports 25W MT and 25W SEMPRON AMD processors... my question is, can i buy one now with a SEMPRON in it and then upgrade to a AMD turion that's potentially not made now? like if they'd make a MT-60 2.8Ghz (made up for an example)... could i plug it in and expect it to work? or would i have to reflash the BIOS?

Upgrading the CPU on a laptop is essentially the same as a desktop, you jsut drop it in as normal. Your only limitation of course is it has to work with the motherboard and be supported and all that.

The problem with your idea is...the processor you want to upgrade to is not made yet. So there is no way anybody on earth can tell you if you can upgrade to it succesfully.

To kind of answer the question; if the CPU was the same socket type, and your motherboard was compatible with all the features/technology, then yes I'd bet it would work. But often tiem they require a BIOS flash, since the motherboard was never intended to run that CPU when it was developed.
