Hello,
The battery for my E1505 does retain a charge any more. I took the plastic battery housing apart, and inside there are six green battery looking cylinders linked together with brackets and then connected to the inverter board, along with other various wires. These six batteries must be what is no longer holding the charge. Since I was able to get at them fairly easily, I am assuming that I don't need to buy the whole ready to install battery assembly, which is about $70.00, and I can just re-solder in some new ones. Questions:
What is the technical name for these battery cylinders? Is there some way obscure website where I can find some replacements?
At this point, I would feel really stupid buying a battery from Dell when all I have to do is locate the cylinders and solder them myself. Thanks for your reply...any other info you think pertinent is also greatly appreciated. Please respond respectfully, or just move on.
