I went into Bios after turning on my computer and was browsing around. I came across a fan check test, which I ran and I am pleased with the results. I also found some sort of a battery test.

When I ran the battery test it seemed to take forever. First, it had to recharge the laptop, which took forever. Then after it charged up fully, it had to decharge. I fell asleep for a couple of hours and when I woke up it was still doing the test. Finally I just decided to shut off of the computer.

Does anyone know what test I am talking about? What are the benefits or running that test?

I dont know the exact name of the test.

It's a battery calibrator. It just calibrates your battery with your system. I recommend using it just once and when your battery life is a little haywire. Sometimes when you're in Windows and your battery meter says that it's got a good 45 mins left, but then it cuts out... it's a good time to calibrate your battery.

My laptop has something similar that basically discharges then recharges the battery to calbrate the battery meeter. I read you're suppose to do it every month or so, but I never do it anymore :P

Yeah my battery is acting funny like that. It seems to run out of juice faster than normal. I think I will let the calibrator run the whole way through whenever I find some time. Thanks :D
