Battery power

Hi,

I have a fujitsu siemens amilo laptop. Recently I have lost the use of battery power on my laptop and can only use AC power? How do I repair this issue?

seems like it's a dead battery. i had this issue with an old sony vaio before. i had to replace the battery with a new one.

Call fujitsu, ask for a replacement battery. No. Go on there website, order the battery.

Sorry chaps!! I forgot to mention that I have bought a replacement battery and still no joy. Laptop out of warranty as well.

hmmm wow. i can't think of a solution. i'm not too familiar with laptops. best bet is to go to fujitsu and have it looked at.

I read somewhere that it has something to do with windows 2000? One day my battery was working fine, the next day nothing.....! Is it an error in the power options menu.

I can't imagine the problem being software related. A laptop will charge with or without software loaded. Take the hard drive out of a working one if you don't believe me :P

Is your battery a new one from Fujitsu or some cheap knock off? If you got it off Ebay, and it's not a true Fujitsu battery, or some older one, it's probably going to be dead as well. Aside from that, I'm not really sure what else to aim towards. I suppose the power supply could be going out. I've seen some laptops that wouldn't charge unless they had the correct current coming in (low amperage) Or you could have some internal issues with the electronics. I know my Fujitsu has all kinds of power/battery lights. When plugged in, do they all appear normal? Do they show either battery is charging/is charged?
