Battery Question

Well, is it ok to leave the battery in the laptop while running the laptop off the power? Ive been doing it for the past 2 weeks, i heard its not good while others say it doesnt matter .. the laptop has been left on for many hours (10+) at a time also,
Its a Satelite P300, 6 cell battery if it makes a difference, thanks.
 
If like all other laptop baterys it will will be Lituim ion which apart from being a third of the weight 3Xs the perfromance and quicker charging time it also has no Memory effect so its fine to use it how ever its even fine to run it dead and then charge as i say what ever floats your boat lol
