Battery voltage

Hi,

I wanted to get a new battery for my laptop (nx5000 hp compaq), and I wanted to ask whether the voltage of the battery I'm buying has to be the exact same as the original one.

you can be off some like max 1 volt.
but it isn't good for your laptop.
the closer you get the better it is.
I recommend no bigger difference then 0.5 volts.

Just call hp. or look on their site if you can order a new one.
