Battery won't stop charging

I just bought a new battery for my delll inspiron b130 off of ebay. They battery holds a charge and lasts around 3 hours, the problem is when the computer says the battery is full, the light on the computer still flashes indicating it is still charging. I know this is normal for a short period of time, but it has done this for several hours after the charge was complete. I have the Battery Care software installed and it says the the battery isn't being drained or charged. The battery holds 53wh, and Battery Care shows it as having 47844mwh of power when charged. What is going and and is it ok the leave the battery in with the light flashing?

Is it an actual Dell battery? If not, thats most likely your issue. The laptop might somehow know thats its not an actual dell battery.

+1 ; That's what I was thinking as well. Normally I'd say you could leave the battery charging, but Lithium batteries are supposed to know when to stop charging and all. I think it's part of the internal circuitry, but I'd imagine the laptop would have something to do with it too. I'd be careful...

Thats most likely your problem. This is one reason why you are better off spending the money and buying a genuine oem original battery.

the battery was only $30 with shipping so for that price I don't mind charging it then taking it out and sitting it aside, it works better than the battery I had before it and last a lot longer. I emailed the company I bought the battery from and asked him if it had in internal shut of device.
