Battlefield 2: AUTORUN ERROR HELP!!

When I put in the dvd it loads..my comp starts to lag real bad then nothing happens..i have to end task the bf2 auto run and then i manually load the game through a shortcut then i can play..i dont know whats wrong it just got messed up..i downloaded all the patches and everything any suggestions?
 
Not really, but BF2 has always been pretty laggy for me. If you can get it to work in some way, I'd just be happy with it and move on... :)
