Battlefield 2 enhance

I remember a post a long time ago that showed how to increase the graphics quality in BF2 by changing some numbers in a text file located in the game folder, how do I do that?

ok navigate to;
\Documents and Settings\"user name"\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001

then open "video.con" in notepad! (probably best to back it up or jot down its standard settings!)


the numbers at the end are;
1 low
2 medium
3 high
4 ultra high

this is how mine looks;

VideoSettings.setGeometryQuality 4
VideoSettings.setLightingQuality 4
VideoSettings.setDynamicLightingQuality 4
VideoSettings.setDynamicShadowsQuality 4

*** recomend you set these to there max ingame before you start as it will already be set to its highest, only change them in notepad if you know what your doing!
once you have changed what you want, save it.


now since the 1.3 patch it has been automaticaly set back down to 3 when you start the game, so right click the video.con file and select properties and under attributes change it to read only! this will force it! but you will not be able to acces the video settings ingame anymore you will get a ctd, so no peeking!

tbh there is no noticable visual diference between high and ultra high, it just makes me feel good inside, but it does give ME a few extra pfs!
