Beeping Sounds

My dad has an old computer that has been making a lot of beeping sounds lately. I opened it up when it was beeping and I found a thing right next to the fan that looked exactly like a speaker. I'm sure that that's where the sound was coming from. Is there something that can be done? Should I unplug something? Thanks!

If the beeping is occurring during Post (start-up) then it's a beep code. You don't seem to mention any problems though so do you mean that it's beeping during use?

It beeps while in use. Besides the beeping nothing else happens. Thanks!

That's kind of weird. The only beeping I know of is the beeping you heard when you scroll too fast, or when you hit too many keys or something.

Nothing, but FF. Even when it's closed it still beeps though.

well if its nothing I say dont worry about it... otherwise, unplug or get rid of it..
