Before Buying New GPU....

I was hoping on buying a DX10 (EVGA 8600GTS) GPU for christmas would it work on my motherboard/chipset (MS-7091/i915) and if so is there anything else i should look out for...?

As long as your motherboard has a PCI-E 16x slot, it should work. The 8600GTS is a good card for the lower budget gamers. I have it, and I have no complaints yet. It may become obsolete to new DX10 games in the next year or so, but a good buy for right now.

Make sure your PSU is up to the challenge. Not much of a challenge at all though, being that a 350w, 18a +12v PSU could handle it easily.

It should not be a problem with the 8600GTS but if you are planning to get a higher end card make sure your CPU is up to the job, because there is nothing worse than having a bottleneck at the CPU.

Is there a way of chcking your power supplies wattage without actually opening the case....and lol my cpu is kinda bottlenecking my system or will be....

if your cpu is a p4 make sure the pci e slot runs at x16 and not x8 because most 8800gts cards will only run on pci e x16 slot also make sure your psu has the correct power molex for the graphics card .
