Well, the Turion is specifically designed for notebook use and I believe runs at 2.2Ghz over the 2.4Ghz of an Athlon 64 4000+. The power consumption of a 4000+ should be higher, but the performance higher. However, I would not expect a huge difference and would most likely get the Turion instead since you are talking about notebooks.

The Turion is better for mobility. I prefer a Centrino Chipset, but if you're only comparing those 2, I'd get the Turion.
definately the turion. you'll kick yourself later when you realize you get crap battery life. i agree with laptop extreme, the pentium M tends to do a little better on battery. I'm on my pentium M 1.6 lappy right now and i use it 100x more than my pentium 2.8 ghz lappy. in other words its not getting used much at all. its fast as hell but i can't stand the 1 hour battery life.
