Well depends...

I personally like the HDD that I have:

Western Digital Caviar XL WD800JB - 80GB 8MB

However, I think that a good choice would be this as well:

Samsung SpinPoint P Series SP0812N - 80GB 8MB
Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 6Y080P0 - 80GB 8MB

I think Samsung SP0802N is the best harddisk.I use it in my PC.It is ultra silent,fast and it works in a very low temperature........

And what temperature is this? With what cooling? ... cuz damn near every 7200rpm drive falls into the same 10% temperature spread of operation.

It works without problem but i slowed down my cpu speed for keeping the case cool.It works on 1100MHZ,it was 1833MHZ.....

My WD 80GB is almost 4 years old... still running strong. It was originally my main drive, then a backup, and now is in an external closure. When it was my main drive, I kept it on almost 24/7 for a good 2 years without any problems.
