Firstly avast which requires you register email address, second avira which is almost as good and does not require your email, I would not use anything else and one i would particularly stay away from is microsoft security essentials.

For malware, malwarebytes is one of the best or iobit malware fighter.

MY Favorite for past couple years

is Emsisoft. I agree that MS Security Essentials should be avoided.
