Hey not sure if this goes here but just looking to benchmark my rig and looking for the best free or not free benchmarking software

Futuremark of course!

You have your choice of:
3DMark 06
3DMark Vantage (Vista & 7 only)
3DMark 11
All available for free download at http://www.futuremark.com/benchmarks/
Free version lets you test at lowest resolution, while the paid version allows you to modify the test methods. We have a 3DMark thread over in the video card section if you wish to add your rig.

There's also GeekBench:

Heaven is free to download and it's a great, widely used benchmark.
