best big case?

is there any generally agreed upon best case or cases for building a computer right now? like i assume the bigger of the full tower ones are good for building a good gaming rig and such, so is there any really good ones?from what i have seen the NZXT Phantom looks really good, just a few minor complains i have heard with it being a little on the small side

The phantoms are popular. Look into the corsair 600s and the coolermaster haf series, along with their storm scout and storm sniper cases.

those look decent, im just really concerned about space as it will be my first build i dont wanna run out of space or anything, and i want it to just look amazing lol

All the cases I suggested are more than enough and are some of the biggest out there. I'm planning on getting the coolermaster storm sniper. 10 inches wide, will be able to fit any heatsink in there. All have great cable management and will stay cool.

true, its just to me when i was looking at the phantom that thing was massive but really the only complain i found on it was it was too small, are the ones you suggested around that size or bigger or smaller?

big good and quiet cases...id say silverstone for features and innovation, the 90 degree rotation in the raven series is just an amazing idea, keeps heavy graphics cards from sagging...since they will lay straight down, vs being left to struggle against gravity without a guide rail...which i think more cases should have with the cards getting heavier and heavier.

i read some reviews on those raven ones, people seem to not like the rotating thing because it leaves the usb ports on the top of the case, and there was just lots of minor complaints and such on them

It would depend on your budget for this.

Any decent mid tower case will be able to run large heatsinks and long graphics card without much trouble, however if you want to opt for more space:

Or just go all out ;)

Though as I said, there isn't much need to go full tower other than for aesthetics, water cooling or for that extra space, and other neat extras that some cases come with

If you would go mid tower:

are your best options

that Corsair Obsidian Series 800D isnt the best looking, but all the reviews on it are amazing, and i may end up water cooling, so it looks like it would fit my needs quite well

The Corsair 800D, although very massive looking and plain, is an excellent and spacious case. If you want to do water cooling then that's a great case to look into. But, there are many other cases such as the Cooler Master HAF series and the ATSC 840 that are pretty big and will hold a nice water cooling setup.

I agree with those cases that Astii has posted. If you want to get a nice reservoir and mount it so that you can see it when you open the case, then get a Full Tower case like the 800D.

Isn't the best looking...I'm just going to pretend that wasn't said  :P I'm going to guess you are a form over function person who would rather have lots of pretty flashy lights and random edges

The Antec Cases are built really well. I would suggest the Antec Twelve Hundred or the new Lanboy Air series.

Antec cases are not built well, or rather they are not built as well as other cases. They are some of the most featureless and overpriced cases available. You get a chassis, and that is it, very little scope for cable management, very few extras and nothing that would make them seem special at all.

@OP, let me try to explain the size of the case in ways of a picture.

With my (old) GTX 260 in there, a 10.5" card:

That is a 700D rather than the 800D, however the only difference between the two is the 800D has a side panel, mine does not, the 800D has the hot swappable drives at the front, mine has the conventional drive bays, which you can see in the picture

+1, for sure i have to agree, those things weigh like a hundred pounds and they are really narrow. Its hard to get any decent cable management with it and cleaning those fans in the front is the biggest hassle cuz you have to take out each of the three bay cages. :gun:Antec, definitely a thumbs-down.

i do like a bit of good looks, but its not that important to me, i just dont want a big black rectangular box lol

dont recommend the 1200 in a dusty environment...the filters will clog up frequently and you will be taking it apart on a weekly basis to vacuum out the filters...

If you don't like the professional look of the Corsair cases, go and have a look at Lian Li. They offer equal quality and features, however have some less simple designs

You don't need the fan filters on the fans in the 1200.. I took mine out. I have enough air pressure with all of my fans (3 85 CFM intake on front, 50 CFM intake on side, 85 CFM intake on top of case, two 60 CFM exhaust on rear of case), creating semi-positive air pressure, blowing the dust out of the exhaust and mesh.

i rather leave the fan filters in, keeps the dust down even if it does keep most of the dust out...there will be buildup around my radiator for the H50, so their staying...
