Hey guys,
First time builder here. I have spent the last few weeks doing my research on how to piece together a new machine and think I am finally coming down to the wire.
I don't do any 3-D gaming at the moment, eventually I may start but it's hard telling. I use my PC for iTunes, Internet, Word Processing, PowerPoint, and a 2-D based graphics game called "Tibia".
To start off I was going to go with one of 9600 quad core but was soon told that the quad core just wasn't going to be worth the money for what I use my PC for. From there I was looking at the the AMD 5600-6400's, but after reading this article from Tom's Hardware...
http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/10/...t_overclocker/
That for 85.00 I could purchase the 5000 Black Edition and clock it up to 3.1 using stock voltage (I personally don't know exactly what that means, except that it seems to be pretty good and about the best bang for buck processor on the market).
I need help matching this up with a solid motherboard. I am willing to spend up to 150.00 or so on the board, but don't want to put money into something that is overkill. What are your thoughts? What are you running? What are your recommendations?
Thanks,
Josh
