best card for under $400 for 24" screen

so ya i have a 24inch screen . want a card for under 400 i like to game quite a bit and i would like to play on the best possible settings . don't know if that;s possible with how much i want to spend but i w3as thinking a 7950-1900xt or 8800 gts 320mb
 
I have the 8800gts 320mb and I'd say that 320mb isn't gonna be enough for a 24 inch screen. I'd get the 8800gts 640mb OR 8800gtx OR X2900XT (whichever you can afford)
 
For $400 you should go with the 8800GTS and have a few hundred left over. I wouldnt invest that much money into a DX9 card like the 7950.
 
HD2900XT, it's $429, beats the 8800GTS 320MB version and it s pretty solid performer. And with new drivers on the horizon the card is sure to please.
