Best Cell Phone

Hey guys I'm in So. Cal. and I was looking for the best cell phone from Verizon. I'm an old school flip phone user thinking about switching to the new android phone. I was deciding between the Droid X, and the Samsung Fascinate. Was looking for an easy O.S. and reliable.

One alternative i'd look into is Sprint's offerings, both are CDMA carriers but sprint has 4G service in some areas now, and they have some pretty nice android phone offerings.Specifically, I'm referring to the Samsung Epic is, well, a pretty Epic phone.

Yeah I looked into sprint, I had them and was very unhappy with there service here. It's changed since I last used them, but urgh I can still remember how bad it was. A friend of mine has the new HTC Evo and really likes it. I'm looking into the Samsung Fascinate now and googling and searching. As to the 4G, all the article I've read said sprints 4G coverage sucks and you have to pay a premium price. Verizon will have 4G end of 2 Qtr next year. Choices Choices like a new mobo or cpu chip same with these phones, neverending.....

The new Galaxy-S phone is pretty sweet it's the Samsung Vibrant. But can't go wrong with the Droid X or Incredible. Depending on what software and such you like more. If size matters, go for the X. Personally I like the Incredible more, though I wish it was the size of the X.

4G has no "premium price"...its all covered under their data plans ($69.99 for unlimited data/mobile tv/messaging/unlimited cellular calls to any carrier/450 minutes to landlines/etc), and for an unlimited data/messaging plan among national carriers sprint is the cheapest.I wouldn't exactly say their coverage for 4G sucks, it is rolled out in limited areas at this time, its not as if they can roll it out everywhere all at once (obviously).

Also, one has to consider the fact that both Verizon and Sprint are CDMA technologies so roam on each others' networks.

Yeap, your right, I thought for some reason it was an addition 9.99 a month for 4G, it's not. And yeah 4G is in limited areas so not really suck, but unfortunate. As for the 69.99 everything I almost went back to them for this, but see where you typed 450 minutes to landlines. I use my phone mostly for work so I call lots of customers on there landlines. I'd have to pay for the 99.99 a month plan. So that's where I'm at for Verizon. I pay 69.99 unlimited talk and text and an additional 29.99 for unlimited data. So I don't really save any money. But it would be nice to save 30.00 a month right now.

The nice thing with sprint(if you are looking at unlimited plans), their $99 plan includes messaging as well, while i believe its another $20 for unlimited messaging on verizons plans. It really comes down to what phone you like best and what carrier has that phone available.

You can't beat Sprint's pricing and come March 1st I'm getting the HTC EVO 4G most likely. I've got a blackberry 8530 now and it just sucks for web browsing.

Just a note. Not sure where you work at but check to see if you can get a corporate discount on your monthly plan charge. With my discount I'm paying about $65 a month on the 450 minute plan.

Same price for the unlimited program for me. As for a disc. I own my own company so no disc.

So I wanted to say thanks for all that gave their input. I wanted to let everyone know that I purchashed the Samsung Facinate today :D. The pic. quality is amazing. This is nothing like my old flip phone. This is going to take some time to navigate thru.
