I'm building a high performance gaming computer, and i can't really find out which is best motherboard currently on the market.

What do you think?

Its going to be hard for someone to claim the best. People will have different opinions. It will come down to a few boards in what ever your price range is.

$435-500 isn't gonna be much for a high performance gaming computer, like you want. Especially if you're going with a sandy bridge.

And if that's for the motherboard? You have a better job than me...

just for the board, have saved up money for an eternity...

But if a cheaper AMD alternative exists, why spend the extra bucks on the Intel.

Wow, that is a lot of money. And I would wait to see what the AMD Bulldozers do. Especially that nice 8-core. *drool*

What's your total budget for the whole computer then? And where a bouts are you? That changes where you can buy from and price.

It seems to be a competition between ASUS and Gigabyte in the motherboard department. Not too sure on the high end part, but the ASUS P8P67 PRO seems to be a good choice.

The best motherboard out would not be a P67 chipset motherboard. The best either would be the EVGA Classified 4 way SLI or the new ASUS ROG Black Edition X58 board. Feature for feature plus the performance makes these the 2 best hands down.

Edit: Almost forgot about the Evga Classified SR2. That is probably the best motherboard you can buy ATM.

at this point it is worth waiting just a little more for AMD bulldozer to be released so you can do a fair comparison.

I can tell you now, anything AMD releases under the bulldozer codename will be easily beaten by the new flagship line of Intel coming in January.

You stated that like it was a fact. Do you have a Zambezi that you have tested? Or have a legit benchmark that I havent seen? Or is this based on all the fake reports about them? Since none have been released except ES models to board manufactures to test on AM3+ board, its seems you know more then anybody else on the subject.

Is this a opinion or a fact as stated. Please show me or send me that Zambezi that you have.

Here you go:

Doesn't even beat the current Sandy Bridge

there are too many easons for the bad reviews, win7 scheduler, no use of the newer tech they put into it, scheduler missing turbo oppurtunities, all kinds of stuff.
