Best/fastest notebook for up to $1200?

I've been looking at notebooks, but i can't decide what to go with. I've built a couple different ones on www.cyberpowersystem.com , and you get quite a bit for pretty cheap. A couple i built w/ XP Home installed:

P4 2.8 Ghz 512K cache
60GB Hard Drive
512 MB RAM
$1158 shipped

Pentium M processor 1.5 GHz 1MB cache
60GB hard drive
512 MB RAM
$1208 shipped

Any thoughts? Which would be faster?

Dude those computers are not good unless you are only going to use it for email/word processing. Check out dell.com for some pretty awesome deals. the computer in my sig was 1300 after shipping and tax, and you could downgrade to around 1150 and still be miles ahead of the ones in your post.
 
dude, i hate to break it to you, but both of those deals suck. i got the monster in my sig for the same price as those, and its 10x better. seriously, do some online research, and find a better deal than that.
