Best free games for old PC

Hi.
I have an old pc with an Intel Core 2 Duo 1.83GHz, 3GB RAM and Intel GMA 950 graphics; and a laptop with Intel Atom Z3736F, 2GB RAM and Intel HD 400
I have a problem with Steam games on my PC (textures arn't loading) so I can't use it.
I need free games that will run on either one of my systems.

What's your definition of 'Steam games'? That's kind of a vague title for a distribution platform that provides a large array of games.

Any chance of throwing a cheap GPU in there? Are there any specific games you're trying to play?

It's really new computer time, however.

On the Intel Core 2 Duo 1.83GHz you can install BF2 and use BF2 Hub to play. I highly recommend the AIX mod.

What's your point? I don't see a frame lag and the vid quality can't be ascertained since the YT video is only encoded at 360p.
