Best free photoshop?

Hello,

I was looking to install a good, easy to use photoshop, I have some experience with photoshop, but very little. In school we are using Adobe Photshop CS3 but that is very complicated, I find picnik easy to use, but I want something that can be installed to my hard drive, well... a program basically, I don't need anything fancy either, but nothing to simple. I also want the ability to make people or things fat or skinny :)

well if you want something with the quality of photoshop then GIMP is just about the best peice of freeware you can get for image editing. Not sure if it has the ability to "liquify" like photoshop does tho.

Yup true :)
But my tech teacher said he might give us a copy, I am not sure if that is allowed though :p

As long as it is not illegal, i don't think it should be a problem.

My school has sometimes done that, given a student, after negotiation, a copy of office and CS3.

Damn... i should do that. Ask my school principle or something...

My wife also likes Picasa. It's good for simple photo editing and general picture management.

Yeah, my tech teacher is really cool
He offered to get me a discount on a MacBook because he overheard me saying that my dad was getting a MacBook, also there is something called AutoCAD or something but its like $1000 and he is giving every student in his gr 10 class a copy!

What is so good about autocad? All I see my teacher doing with it is making shapes n stuff, of course I don't watch what he is doing for too long, I had to learn how to use photoshop :P

Yeah I noticed when he was using it he was making arcs and stuff, but it doesn't look like the program is worth over $1000 it looks like a $60 program when it is running.
