Best GeForce 8800 card?

Right now I would recommend the 8800GT, although the newer GTS will outperform it as well from what I hear.

so it is...
GTS>GT>GTX>Ultra?
And soon will be...
GTS>GT>New GTS>GTX>Ultra
Agh I'm just really worried that the new GTS wouldn't be able to run crysis on high with a steady FPS

I've heard that getting more system memory will help performance in Crysis. That's why my new build will have two 2GB sticks to make 4GB total. Video cards aren't the only thing games use.

Yeah, I think the new GTS with a decent processor, and 4 GB of ram (dual channel) and vista, with DX10 would be good, eh? :D

LOL I'm sad that a card that feels new 8800gts640mb can't run on ultra settings, who's gonna upgrade a8800gts to a8800gt to play 1 game LOL I thought i would be set for at least a year without upgrading

0MEGA, I don't have any of that yet but I'm working on getting it by selling parts of my old setup, grades and christmas etc.
But yeah, it sucks that such expensive stuff gets obsolete so fast.

That's a lot of hassle, my man. I also vote for 8800 GT. Just ordered one myself, it's definitely the best deal (if you can find one!).

Hehe

What exactly is the new GTS going to be called so it's not confused with the older one? And I assume it's performance will be between the GT's and GTX's?

They're gonna do what they did with the 8800GT...call it the exact same thing. It will perform better than the revised, G92'd GT, better than the old GTX, and probably on-par with the Ultra.

I'm just wondering how much of a CPU it's gonna take to not bottleneck the damn thing.
