Best i7 CPU for gaming?

Hi there, i am in need of a computer upgrade and i wish to purchase a CPU which can handle possibly every game. i have looked at a i7 and come across a problem. Which i7 is best for gaming?

Really don't need an I7 for gaming. Games are more dependent on the video card then the processor. A good I5 cpu will work. What games are you planning on playing?
 
well i can run most games at the moment, but some of the games that i enjoy the most are getting around 15 fps, as they are badly optimized and to play them, a good CPU is needed.
 
As I said, a good I5 is all you need for those games. We would need to know what your current specs are.
 
With that res I'd probably just upgrade the GPU, although apparently ARMA3 is horrific on AMD platforms.

An i5 6600K would be a good bet unless you want to throw in some more money for hyperthreading, but I'd personally also budget in some DDR4.
 
Yeah usually i5s are fine but if you want the best i7 for gaming right now it's the i7 6700K paired with a good Z170 board, DDR4 RAM and a nice graphics card. Anything higher-end than a 6700K is not worthwhile if gaming is all you do.
