Best Laptop for around $500?

well, i was looking at the samsung NP300E5C-A01UB from bestbuy, but in the past month a lot of negative reviews have been posted about it....

was also looking at the ASUS K53E-RBR9, which is 8gb RAM and 750bg...

was wondering what everyone's thoughts are for a laptop around $500 or so...i dont play any games, but use my computer a lot for music, videos (youtube/espn/nfl network), and those kind of multimedia things....
 
For one if I was you I would wait a few weeks because they are about to release the new windows 8 computers and I am sure they will have one in your range.

If not at your price point finding a quality laptop is hard so I would recommend a tablet, either the 32 GB Nexus 7 for $249 or the Asus TF300 32 GB for $399 / under $600 with the keyboard dock and gets 15 hours battery life.

A tablet can do everything you wanted but for the price they would be a better quality for you. Both that I recommended for you have quad core cpu's so honestly they will more then likely out perform most of the $500 laptops.
 
hey dm, thanks for the reply... well, i'd like to get a laptop....maybe even a desktop if i find a good deal on one, but i need either one (for burning cd's and dvd's) so i'm not looking at tablets (should have put that in my first post, sorry)
