best laptop for programming

hi i was wondering... can anyone tell me which laptops are the best for programming? thanks in advanced...
 
i want it for college... i'm planning to major in computer science. therefore i want a laptop to be able to carry around and stuf... and about the language... i'm sure they are going to show us most of them... or at least the most popular ones...
 
Yeah, as long as you have about 512M RAM, most anything else would be perfectly fine. I used my laptop when in C++ and I'm using it for Java. It's doing just fine.
 
yes that will be fine. you might want something with a small screen and a long battery life if you are going to college.

i ran c++ on my old computer which had 16mb of ram....super
