Best Laptop under 1200?

I am an incoming college student and am looking for a laptop under 1200 with decent gaming abilities and a speedy processor...any ideas?
 
I would look into the Del E1505/E1705 series. They have Core 2 Duo, and dedicated video cards, either the x1400 or 7900GS. I have an E1505 with the x1400 and it lets me play games like CSS on medium settings, FEAR, on low/medium settings, and a few others. It's nothing like an 8800GTX, but it elts me play games fairly well.
 
I would look at hp as an alternative from dell, anyway check both and if you still need help, we'll be here to help you.
 
yes i have reviews both of those options and between the two it appears that the enspiron E1505 is the best choice...what do u guys think of the Asus A8 or F3 series?...and is apple macbook capable of running simple games like Cs and WC3 without butchering the graphics

wow we have a lot in common. im also an incoming college freshman this fall and $1200 is just about my budget. my parents want me to get a dell since our family has 3 of them atm and 2 of them are working pretty well. i was leaning towards the inspiron e1505 so id like to see what people here have to say about it.
 
I'd say get an Asus, unlike Dell, HP etc they build their own laptops. The build quality is also very high on them.
 
i never needed a laptop for college. they have computers in every classroom so is kind of pointless and we had alot of books to carry so make sure your school doesnt provide computers in most of your classes before you invest your money.
