best linux distro for dell xps 17 especially for hibernate to work

what is the best linux distro for dell xps 17 especially to have hibernate function available? I have tried mint 17 but it doesn't work.

Generally hybernate in Linux doesn't work all that well that I have seen. You might want to try Suspend to RAM rather than Suspend to Disk.

It's the same for programmers as ubuntu would be, since it's based on it.
