I'm not a serious gamer but I'd like to check out one or two pc games and I know I need something better than the intel graphics that this comes with. So what graphics card (for 40-$80ish) can I get to boost this pc?

you need a new power supply for any real graphics cards, but you should be able to run a little card with low power draw in that price range on that computer.

When you look at the benches and see the power usage and the performance of all the lower end cards,it's hard to tell anyone to go lower than the 7750. It uses the same amount of power as the GT640 and the older gen HD6670, which each cost a little less, but it murders them in terms of performance.

It's a little more than you wanted, but well worth it.

So this graphics card will run fine with a 250-300 watt power supply? Also will I need any extra cooling equipment to keep it from over-heating?

NVm. The minimum is a 400 watt power supply and I don't think this pc has that. I need something else.

You cou
D probs run a gt620 off that 250w, but really you cant get anything that will game without upgrading the power supply too. I'd go for a corsair cx500 and a hd7750 or if you can a 7770 is a decent step up in performance.

I really appreciate your responses Jonnyp11! So I think I might buy a new power supply. I'm looking at 400 watt supplies at the moment but that 500 watt corsair is looking good now, and it's only $60 on amazon. So do I have to buy anything else to install this power supply? (please say no lol)

Hello I know this thread is a month old but its what I was looking for but I had one question to add I hope that's OK... if I were to do the exact same thing as the thread author what happens to the on board video when you install a new card? Does it deactivate itself? Not sure how that works.

anyway I appreciate any help.... thank you.

PS, all I would want to play is WoW and maybe the new Skyrim online when that's out.
