While those are nice sound solutions, i think a more professional solution would be more effectvie hereWhat you are asking is what mobo has the best integrated sound chip. The best option you have is to buy a good sound card like a Creative Sound Blaster 4 Pro, if you can cough up the money. What's your budget? According to a magazine the Abit Fatal1ty AAXE is good but its for intel. But you could get a MSI K8N Diamond Creative SB Live! 24-Bit, but I suggest going for a sound card. Like Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS.
Unless you planning on PentiumM (and even then), you should be using a Dual Channel setupstill not sure on dual memory or not
Pretty much any nForce4Ultra board should be sufficient to suit your needs since most of your requirements revolved around a professional soundcard and system stablity rather than bleeding edge setupsmy visuals will be one step from a green screen and the least on grafix imaginable, but I would still like decent slots there for the future.
Ive not heard that per-se (unless you are referring to the trend of laptop-makers/boards in a general-type way) ... definitely heard the other way thoughI have heard that someone (Intel?) was chopping their PC desk boards to fit into laptops, could a mother board be altered to have more audio?
Technically true information but about 15 years outdatedI guess I understand that the pci slots are shared by audio and grafix and can interfere with one another (at least grafix to audio).
What's the budget?I have decided amd processor (JUST ONE)
and dual memory (as fast as I can get for the $$$ and good quality)
don't think I can afford corsair @ the moment
I am a guitar player and being so will be investing into an enormous effects processor pedal work station called the digitech gnx4 it has very thing 8 track, effects pedals and computer conectivity i.e. cakewalk software. my computer will do probably just as much as it will but one is to back up the other and they will be used to work together.
Glad you like 'emps; I have read most of your computer 101's and find them very helpful and incouraging.
I dunno if any audio applications push past two threads....I haven't read the whole thread, but if you are going for a PC that is mainly used for audio, then I would make sure to get a Dual Core Processor. Video/Audio editing takes up an extremely high amount of your CPU%.
Well if you're into professional type audio, then a pro-audio card is a better choice than a gaming cardAnd I would suggest a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Edition Sound Card.
