Best MOBO for E8400 DDR2

Hey guys

Looking for advice on the best motherboard for a E8400 with DD2. SLI would be a preference. Not limited on budget at this stage, but advice with several options for budget would be appreciated!!:P

Thanks!

How much DDR2? it could be worth getting a socket 775 Mobo that supports DDR3, it (the mobo) would be a bit more expensive but the Actual DDR3 RAM is only slightly dearer than DDR2 :)

Okay, sure :) So you're looking for a Socket 775 tri-channel DDR2 Motherboard? I only assume it's tri-channel memory you've got 'cos you said you had 6GB of it :P umm... I was about to say try google shopping, but all the ones on there I can find with tri-channel memory support are for the newer X58 chipsets... And they only support DDR3 :(

so, is it Dual-or tri channel memory? :)

Sorry, it's like 20 questions here :P

sorry man, i need a dual channel ddr2 mobo that supports a E8400, PCIe 2.0 etc (my specs) to replace current mobo which is beginning to show signs of going south. I want to upgrade but i generally get stuff 12 months old as i find it to be the best bang for the buck. So i don't want core i stuff, DDR3 stuff etc, just standard Core 2 Duo/Quad capability with DDR2 and SLI.

Looking for opinions of best bang for buck options in various price categories with considerations for overclocking. cheers

thanks guys i know it is a dead socket, but its all i need at the moment. in 3 years so will the core i stuff.

the suggestion was the ASUS P5N-D LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 750i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

any more?

Ok guys, firstly crossfire is ATi. Secondly I am in Australia so any Australian links would be preferred. Thirdly when I say SLI, i want it to support both SLI and CF as I currently have a HD5770 but may want to use nVidia cards in the future. In summary:

1. Best motherboard for a E8400 DDR2
2. Supporting CF & SLI wherever possible, but CF primarily
3. Australian links if possible, but mobo name will do

Cheers

Not a lot of choice really :o

you could get the same board i have, but it only does SLI and at x8/x8 speeds. you also have to flip the little board thingy around.

or you could grab the P5N-D because it's 750i and not 650i like my board is. :(

what? im not necessarily looking for brand new. i want to know what mobo is best for my current hardware. i don't believe that there is nothing?
