You know like cubase or magix music. I have tried both of these but thinking there might be a better one out there, any suggestions ?

Cheers

personally i love nero
it has virtually anything that you could need
and it's very easy to get the hang of and use
can be kind of expensive though

one program i had tried out awhile back and liked was virtuosa.
seems to be a decent program. does not seem to have as many options, but it has a nice interface to it and you can try it for free for like 30 days.

I like to use Audacity, it's free and easy to use. I might get Magix Music Studio 11 deluxe.

I usually connect my guitar to my JH-1 distortion pedal, from the pedal then into the Line In and it works great. But when I want the "amp" sound I connect like this: Guitar->JH-1 dist. pedal->Amp->Line In. But there is no sound. It doesn't seem to work. Anybody know what's wrong?

yeh dude i do that from the amp, when i used my amp before i knew i could just use a pedal i went from the amp into the micrphone.

Anyone no any other software for recording your own music ??
Due what did u use?

Due???

By the way I was wondering if my dist. pedal has one of those battery's in it which they have in like wah-wah pedals and instruments with e.g. active humbuckers. Cause it says on the bottom of the pedal:
-To prolong battery life, disconnect the signal lead when the unit is not in use.

But it also says:
-Remove battery if the unit is not used for ling periods.

So I doubt it's one of those battery's, and it says in the manual that it uses passive bypass and I use a converter to power the pedal (Jackhammer, JH-1 Marshall.)

Yeh so does anyone know any other record your own music programs (not e.g. nero, wmp etc.) something on the lines of magix music studio.

A Finnish computer magazine called MikroBitti happened to have an article about music programs the other month. Programs listed are:

Cubase SX

Logic Pro

Magix Music Studio

Renoise 1.5 (free of cost+50€ registration unlocks asio-support and ability to save songs as wav files)

Image Line FL Studio 5 (formerly known as FruityLoops, 4 versions available, prices go from 49$ to 399$)

Arturia Storm 3.0 (149€)

Propellerhead Software Reason 3.0 (the most expensive one, 449€ and a software to make your own loops costs 229€)

These are all Windows software, some are also available for Mac. There are some other only Mac programs which I haven't listed. If someone wants to know the name of those programs just ask after 'em here.
