Best PCI-E card for $300 CAD?

Hmm...for my next PC I have a hard time deciding on what to get for a GFX card in my price range. I play games like Counter-Strike:Source, Age Of Empires 3, and F.E.A.R. I'm not looking for the best graphics experience, but for medium detail with great performance in these games.

Here are my choices up to now:
ATi Radeon X850 XT 256MB DDR-III Platinum Edition

Not many options here. :rolleyes:

I may be able to strech my budget further, but I want to see what is the best option in this price range. The X850 XT PE looks like the best deal, even if it has no support for Pixel Shader 3.0.

I suggest you get a Pixel Shader 3 supported card, all new games require advanced shadows...

whats the CAD for? you doing CAD?
i hear ATI's avivo technology/drivers help the gpu accelerate general everyday applications. i mostly game though.
id go with the 7600gt or the x1800gto. of course i have a SLI mobo, so id probly get a 7600gt then.
 
yea they'll all play newer games. i'd say get the x1800gto or 7600gt, whichever is cheaper. i dont know of anyplace that ships to canada though.
lol sry about the CAD thing ive never seen that before.

back at home now though! lol
 
I guess the 7600GT looks best, its cheap, and will hold out for a while and save me money untill I can buy a DX10 card.
